Chandigarh (430 km from Bareilly): Clean, modern city. Excellent hotels. Rock Garden and Sukhna Lake make it worth a 3-hour explore. Leave early morning for Manali the next day.
Mandi (570 km from Bareilly): A compact river town at the confluence of Beas and Uhl rivers. Good food and peaceful riverside guesthouses.
The Kullu Valley
