March – May: The Best Overall Season
Temperatures range from 10–25°C in the hills. Rhododendrons bloom bright red in April. Char Dham portals open in late April–May. Corbett at its best for tiger sightings. Most roads clear and accessible.
June – September: Monsoon
Lush, impossibly green, with waterfalls everywhere. But landslides make some roads dangerous — especially to Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Mussoorie. Corbett partially closed. Best for Valley of Flowers trek (August).
October – November: Post-Monsoon Gold
Our favourite season. Clear skies after the rains reveal Himalayan peaks in perfect detail. Rivers run high and clean. Crowds thin after October. Corbett peak season begins.
December – February: Snow & Silence
Nainital and Mussoorie receive snowfall. Auli opens for skiing. Char Dham shrines are closed. But Haridwar, Rishikesh, Mathura, and Varanasi are excellent — cool and without the summer rush.
