Lucknow to Varanasi is a journey through the deep cultural heart of India — from the Nawabi tehzeeb (culture) of Lucknow to the ancient spirituality of Kashi. The 320 km drive on NH-56 and NH-2 takes approximately 5.5–6 hours.
The Route
Lucknow → Raebareli → Amethi → Sultanpur → Jaunpur → Varanasi. The road is mostly good four-lane with a few slower stretches near Jaunpur.
Stops Worth Making

Jaunpur (270 km from Lucknow): A historically significant city with 14th–15th century Afghan-style mosques (Atala Masjid, Jama Masjid) that deserve far more attention than they receive.
In Varanasi

Returning
